How To Make Your Own Decorative Books

Supplies:

Old books
Fabric
Mod Podge
Paintbrush
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil

Instructions:

1. Choose some old books that you no longer need. The size and shape of the books will determine the size and shape of your decorative books. 2. Measure the covers of the books and cut pieces of fabric to fit. The fabric should be large enough to cover the front and back covers of the book, as well as the spine. 3. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the front cover of the book. Place the fabric on the book and smooth it out. Make sure that the fabric is centered and that there are no wrinkles. 4. Fold the edges of the fabric over the edges of the book and secure them with Mod Podge. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the back cover of the book. 6. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the spine of the book. Fold the edges of the fabric over the spine and secure them with Mod Podge. 7. Allow the Mod Podge to dry completely. 8. Once the Mod Podge is dry, you can decorate the books as desired. You can paint them, add embellishments, or simply leave them plain.

Tips:

You can use any type of fabric to cover your books. However, heavier fabrics, such as canvas or linen, will be more durable.
If you want to add embellishments to your books, such as beads, sequins, or ribbon, do so before the Mod Podge dries completely.
You can also use decorative paper to cover your books.
If you are using old books, be sure to clean them thoroughly before you start covering them.
